• BI Group — advised on the acquisition of Murad Buildings' stake in NRG (Uzbekistan), including coordination of multi-jurisdictional advisers and transaction closing.
• One of Kazakhstan's largest real estate developers — advised on the admission of two investors through a share subscription into an AIFC (Astana International Financial Centre)-based investment fund (exempt fund structured as a closed-ended investment company).
• Kazakhstan investors — advised on the establishment and structuring of an AIFC-based investment fund (exempt fund structured as a limited partnership).
• Leading Kazakhstan restaurant chain — advised on the group restructuring and redomiciliation to the AIFC, including the attraction of equity investment from a Kazakhstan bank through share subscriptions in AIFC companies.
• Chinese state-owned enterprise — advised on multiple multi-billion-dollar acquisitions in Kazakhstan, including regulatory approvals and dispute-related matters.
• Large private Chinese investment group — advised on the acquisition of 100% of the shares in a Kazakhstan oil-producing company at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).
• Major US energy company — advised on the establishment of a joint venture with a Kazakhstan state-owned partner, including a landmark privatization transaction involving the acquisition of a 50% interest in a Kazakhstan joint venture from the national railway company.
• Major European aerospace and defence corporation — advised on the establishment of joint ventures with Kazakhstan state-owned companies for aerospace and defence manufacturing.
• Leading Russian bank — advised on the acquisition of a mid-sized Kazakhstan bank and entry into the Kazakhstan banking market.
• Western private equity / investment fund — advised on a leveraged buyout and acquisition of a mid-sized bank in Kazakhstan.
• Venture arm of a US bank and an international financial institution — advised on equity investments in a mid-sized Kazakhstan bank.
• International financial institution — advised on the sale of common shares in a Kazakhstan bank.
• Major European telecommunications group — advised on the multi-billion-dollar acquisition of full control over a Kazakhstan mobile operator and the subsequent exit via sale to the Kazakhstan national telecommunications operator.
• European telecommunications group — advised on multiple buy-in and sell-out transactions in telecom operators across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
• Major Russian GSM operator — advised on the acquisition and merger of the two largest mobile operators in Uzbekistan.
• Kazakhstan investment group — advised on the establishment of a strategic joint venture in the agriculture sector with a US partner.
